Telephone Service

INSTALLATION/COSTS:
WCCTA will provide an underground service line to any new home free of charge. The builder is responsible for the cost of time and materials for inside work such as wiring, jacks, special equipment, etc. Installation Fee is $20.00.

Deposits start at $35.00 or a positive letter of credit from a previous telephone provider is required.

Current charges for residential service (as of February 2005) is $7.70/month. The total local service is $15.78 plus tax.

Comment:
WCCTA currently provides service to 4,700 subscribers from 16 communities. WCCTA provides an excellent telephone service at a cost which is much lower than most other telephone providers.

As an owner of a cooperative company (when installing service you automatically become a member), members are entitled to certain benefits that are not available to customers of big name telephone companies. A couple benefits include:

• Elect each representative on the Board of Directors. Their job is to oversee the operation of your cooperative and protect your investment.
• Once the operating costs and reinvestments in your co-op have been met, the Board of Directors refunds the remaining money to the members in the form of “Capital Credits”. The amount refunded varies from year to year.

WCCTA can provide many services such as Voice Messaging, Internet Access, Verizon Wireless, Call Waiting, Call Forwarding, Caller ID and many others. Inquire for details.

Cable TV

Installation/Costs:
Gowrie Cablevision will provide a free service drop to any new home built in Gowrie. It is the responsibility of the home builder to install any internal wiring within the home. Cablevision will sell wire to the home builder at cost.

Basic cable service includes over 40 channels and (as of February 2005) is under $30.00 per month plus tax. Two premium channels are available (HBO and Showtime). Cost of one premium channel is $10.00 per month plus tax and the cost of both premium channels is $19.00 per month plus tax.
